The Power of Twitter as a Social Media Platform

Twitter

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables users to send and read "tweets", which are text messages limited to 140 characters. Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. Users access Twitter through the website interface, SMS, or mobile device app.[9] Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has offices in New York City, Boston, San Antonio and Detroit.[10]

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass and by July 2006, the site was launched. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with 500 million registered users in 2012, who posted 340 million tweets per day. The service also handled 1.6 billion search queries per day.[11][12][13] Twitter is now one of the ten most-visited websites, and has been described as "the SMS of the Internet."[6][14] It is one of the most successful startup companies of all time by market capitalization, revenue, growth and cultural impact.[15]

My Take On Twitter

Twitter has proven to be a powerful Social Media Tool, you can literally talk to anyone, in any position, from the lowest position to the highest, if you use it for business, wow. I personally have found Twitter to open big doors, It can get you in the doorway of the largest corporations in America, and around the world. Twitter is faster than a speeding bullet, and more powerful than a locomotive.
Is it a bird, a plane, no its Twitter, and its the Superman of communications.

Statistics - Organic Reach vs Paid

Face Book defines Organic, Viral, and Paid Reach.

What's the difference between organic, viral and paid reach?
The reach of a specific post depends on how people engage with it.
  • Organic reach: The number of unique people who saw your post in News Feed or on your Page, including people who saw it from a story shared by a friend when they liked, commented on or shared your post, answered a question or responded to an event
  • Paid reach: The number of unique people who saw your post through an ad

Note: Viral reach is now counted as part of organic reach.

In Summary:

If you're not a business selling and promoting a product, paid reach can be pricey. Creating
out of pocket expenses to grow your fan base isn't the path most of us non businesses choose.

So how do you grow your members, friends list likes, subscribers, etc.
Multi-platform presence would be my suggestion not everyone is on Twitter or Face
book although they should be.

Well to reach and grow additional followers, likes, subscribers, you should consider
positioning yourself, your product, your company, or service on additional Social Platforms.
